Twelve Oaks Quarter Horses is a family owned and operated farm with a barn of over 25,000 square feet and 100 plus acres of pastures and paddocks designed to provide the utmost quality care and comfort for the horses. It offers a heated show barn, a reception room overlooking the indoor riding arena, multiple turn out areas, large foaling stalls with viewing windows, and a fully equipped laboratory for reproductive procedures. The barn is equipped with an automated conveyor system for quick and easy manure removal, cutting stall cleaning costs and leaving more time for quality time with the animals. It also offers easy access, being just 1.5 miles off Interstate 24 with a circular drive large enough to handle traffic including semi sized trailers.

We offer breeding services designed to assist our customers in getting mares in foal at the most efficient and economical costs possible. The farm offers stallion management, year round broodmare care, mare breeding services of artificial insemination, embryo transfers, and shipped semen. We are proud to boast that after over 20 years of breeding quarter horses, our conceptions rates range from 85-100%, including aged mares and mares with fertility problems.

We are proud to be a part of and support the KENTUCKY BREEDER’S INCENTIVE FUND. We are committed to advancing this great program through the solid roster of stallions we have to offer at realistic, affordable rates, with payment plan when needed. It is our goal to provide a quality service that you can feel comfortable with and assist in helping you gain that foal of your dreams.

We welcome you to come visit, have a cup of coffee, and share your goals and plans for the upcoming breeding season.

Breeding Services

We offer a full service breeding facility equipped to handle today’s breeding demands with our goal of a successful pregnancy always in mind. From collecting stallions for on-site artificial insemination to embryo transfers and foaling services, we are here to meet your breeding needs.

All breedings, whether on-site AI or cooled semen to be shipped, are performed using the clean and sterile conditions. This ensures the safest and cleanest possible conditions, which helps to ensure the highest possible number of pregnancies. We use disposable supplies whenever possible to reduce the possibility of cross contamination and sterilize all possible equipment between mares and stallions.

We offer on-site AI services with return foaling services for individuals wishing to comply with the Kentucky Breeder’s Incentive Fund program, or we can ship semen anywhere in the United States. We offer facilities to collect outside stallions as well and our veterinarian offers advanced training services and breeding evaluations for stallions and mares having breeding problems or complications, and all can be conducted at the farm.

Our breeding records are computerized, detailed and available to you via e-mail at any time of your mares cycle, at your request with no additional cost.

Foaling Services

Foaling Services

As part of the Kentucky Breeder’s Incentive Fund, we understand how important it is to make sure that you not only have your mare bred in Kentucky, but that you have a place to return her to for foaling. We offer foaling services for each mare that is bred on the farm. Our foaling stalls are 12X24 in size and have monitoring systems for close observation as well as a viewing window to observe the mare without distracting her. We also offer a neonate stall adjacent to the foaling stall, should the mare or foal have complications and needs to be separated but still within sight and touch of one another.

Daily Care Services

All horse on the farm are managed on an individual basis in order to provide the best possible conditions. Our program includes routine turn out, a customized feed program along with daily handling and attention. All of our stalls are housed within the same barn and in close proximity to the daily activities so that changes in condition can be detected without delays. Many of our stalls operate on a programmed lighting schedule to ensure mares receive sufficient lighting to assist with their heat cycles and reduce the amount of time your mare must be away from home.

Laboratory Services

Our laboratory services are set up to assist us in settling a mare safely in foal at the least possible cost, while maintaining the highest level of sanitation and efficiency. We have, on site, the lab equipment necessary to perform cultures, sterilize instruments, perform sperm motility and semen counts, along with microscopes, centrifuges, and an in-house ultrasound unit. We are equipped to complete embryo transfers for shipping or on-site implantation when recipient mares are available.
